Fresno Man Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Girlfriend Multiple Times

FRESNO, CA — “On September 12, 2026, at approximately 9:38 pm, Fresno Police officers responded to the area of East Lane Avenue and South Willow Avenue regarding a possible stabbing.  When officers arrived, they found a female who had multiple wounds to the left side of her body.  The victim was transported to CRMC to be treated for her injuries.

The victim told officers that she and the suspect, 46-year old Tyrone Cheeks, have an intimate relationship.  The victim and Suspect Cheeks met up near East Lane Avenue and South Willow Avenue and started arguing.  The argument escalated into a physical confrontation and during the physical confrontation, an unknown person approached the victim and told her she was bleeding.  It was then that the victim realized she had been stabbed multiple times.  Suspect Cheeks fled the scene, and the victim called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

On September 13, 2026, at approximately 02:37 am, officers received an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert indicating that the suspect vehicle associated with Suspect Cheeks was within the Southeast Policing District.  Officers located the suspect vehicle near Kings Canyon Avenue and Winery Avenue.  Once the suspect vehicle exited a nearby drive‑thru, officers initiated a felony traffic stop.  Suspect Tyrone Cheeks was in the vehicle, and he was arrested without incident.  Suspect Cheeks was transported to CRMC for a laceration to his right hand and subsequently booked into FCJ.”
