Mendota Prison Camp Escapee from Fresno

FRESNO – Law enforcement officials are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Mendota Satellite Prison camp, located about 36 miles west of Fresno.

Prison officials discovered that 35-year-old Sandeep Singh was missing late Friday evening during a routine count of inmates at the prison camp, which is located south of Mendota at 33500 W. California Ave. The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service were both notified of Singh’s escape, as were local and state authorities.

Singh was sent to the prison after he was convicted of possession Ecstasy. He was also convicted of intent and conspiracy to distribute the Ecstasy.

Singh is described as Asian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about where Singh is should immediately call local law enforcement.

The prison camp Singh escaped from is a minimum security facility that houses 128 minimum security male inmates.
