Hoopa Woman Arrested for Possession of Narcotics for Sale, Multiple Warrants: Sheriff’s Office
HOOPA, CA — “On September 10, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy on patrol in the 12500 block of State Highway 96 in Hoopa stopped to assist the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Department with a traffic stop. The deputy contacted the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as 51-year-old Jasmine Smith of Hoopa.
A records check revealed Smith had several outstanding warrants for her arrest and was driving with a suspended license. Smith was placed under arrest.
During a search incident to her arrest, the deputy located a small amount of methamphetamine and a large amount of U.S. currency in Smith’s possession. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The substance was identified as fentanyl and was individually packaged in a manner consistent with narcotics sales.
Smith was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked on the following charges:
- HS 11351 – Possession of a controlled substance for sale
- HS 11352(a) –Transportation or sale of a controlled substance
- HS 11377(a) – Possession of a controlled substance
- HS 11364(a)– Possession of drug paraphernalia
- PC 978.5 – Bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge
- PC 978.5 – Bench warrant/failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge
- PC 978.5 – Bench warrant/failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge
