Authorities Reportedly Find Residential Burglary Suspect Hiding in Garage
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — “On September 2, 2026, at approximately 3:47 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 6100 block of Walnut Drive for a reported residential burglary in progress.
While deputies were en route, dispatch advised that the reporting party had observed an individual inside the residence through a video surveillance system. Upon arrival, deputies established a perimeter and conducted a search of the residence. With the assistance of a Sheriff’s Office K9, deputies located the suspect hiding inside a vehicle parked in the garage. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and identified as 44-year-old Joshua Keith Hoisington.
Hoisington was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked on the following charges:
- P.C. 459 – Residential Burglary
- P.C. 459 – Vehicle Burglary
- P.C. 1203.2(a) – Probation Violation
- P.C. 978.5 – Bench Warrant/Failure to Appear on Felony Charge
- P.C. 978.5 – Bench Warrant/Failure to Appear on Misdemeanor Charge
