Shooting Rats from the Roof, and Parking Lot Search Warrant

EUREKA – On the night of February 27th detectives, and agents of the drug task force, “served a search warrant in a parking lot at the 1600 block of Broadway.”

34-year-old Rebecca Chapa was contacted during that search and was found to be in possession of 24.7 grams of heroin. She also had “items consistent with narcotic sales.” Chapa was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substances. Her bail is $45,000.

Then on March 3rd officers responded to a call of a man with a guitar on the a roof of a house near Wabash Avenue and A Street. Upon arrival, it turned out what had initially been reported as being a guitar, was a pellet rifle.

The man and his friend told officers they were shooting at rodents in their yard. The press releases says that “Officers confirmed their story and counseled them on the municipal code violation.”

However, one the of the individuals, 19-year-old Jonathan Ponce, had an out of county warrant and was therefore arrested.
