Here is a story from Humbolt County Sheriff’s Department about A woman who woke up and discovered a man in her house, apparently intent on committing a burglary –

“On Feb 16, 2020, at about 4:20 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 1500 block of Anderson Avenue in McKinleyville for the report of a burglary in progress.

The victim told dispatchers that she woke up to find an unknown male subject in her home. When confronted, the suspect fled. The victim was able to provide a suspect description and identified items missing from the home.

While responding to the residence, deputies located a male subject matching the suspect’s description riding a bicycle on School Road. The subject, 35-year-old Gregory Louis Williams Jr., was found to be on probation with a search clause. During a search of Williams Jr. and an associated bag, deputies located drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Deputies also located electronics and jewelry that had been stolen from the home.

Williams Jr. was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of burglary (PC 459), possession of stolen property (PC 496(a)), possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(a)), possession of drug paraphernalia (HS 11364(a)) and violation of probation (PC 1203.2(a)(2)).
