EUREKA – On the night of March 31st officers from the Eureka Police Department came to a home in the 3600 block of Union Street concerning a report that a man there was threatening to kill his family.
Before officers got to the home, a call then came in that a shot had been fired from inside of the residence. In addition, it was reported that a family member “was struggling to take away the firearm” from the shooter.
Arriving officers then disarmed 66-year-old Danny Floyd Waters and arrest him.
Detectives discovered 19 firearms in the home and over 100 pounds of ammunition. Some of the firearms seized were “not California compliant and illegally manufactured.”
Waters was charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, threats and resisting arrest. His bail is $750,000.
