“On Nov. 5, 2021, at about 3:12 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a storage facility on the 1600 block of Murray Road in McKinleyville for the report of a burglary in progress.

According to the business, a male suspect was observed on security footage unlawfully accessing the property. While searching the facility, deputies found multiple storage units missing locks. Deputies located the suspect, 28-year-old Buddy Ray Blevins, hiding inside one of the unlocked storage units. During a search of Blevins and his belongings incident to arrest, deputies located burglary tools and over one gram of methamphetamine.

Blevins was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of burglary (PC 459/461(b)), vandalism (PC 594(B)(1)) and possession of burglary tools (PC 466). An additional charge of possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(A)) is pending review by the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office.
