Alleged Priest-killer jailed

Authorities have captured the Humboldt County man who they say killed a well-known Eureka reverend.

Eureka Police arrested Gary Lee Bullock, 44, this afternoon. Bullock is the prime suspect in the January 1 death of Rev. Eric Freed, who was found dead in the church rectory. Police believe he may have died from blunt force trauma.

There were signs of forced entry at the church. Police believe Bullock may have been confronted by the reverend after breaking in.

A weapon found at the crime scene connects Bullock to the murder, police said.
