Fresno Woman Accused of Vandalizing Boyfriend’s Ex’s Car with Crowbar, Boyfriend Arrested for Conspiracy

FRESNO, CA — “On August 7, 2026, at approximately 01:14 am, Fresno Police officers responded to a confidential location regarding a domestic disturbance with a female hitting the confidential victim’s vehicle. Officers learned that the victim and 35-year-old Justin Deger were in a previous relationship. Deger has a current girlfriend, 30-year-old Sophia Jacoby.

Officers learned that while the victim was eating near North Brawley and West Clinton Avenue, Deger and Sophia arrived in Deger’s vehicle. Jacoby and Deger exited their vehicle and approached the victim. The victim entered her vehicle as Suspect Jacoby punched and kicked the driver’s side body of the victim’s vehicle, causing multiple scratches. Jacoby then re-entered her vehicle briefly and came back out with a black crowbar. Jacoby struck the front driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle with the crowbar 2-3 times, causing chipping to the window.

Suspect Deger did not attempt to stop Jacoby and drove her away from the scene. As officers were on scene with the victim, Deger called the victim through a blocked number and told her that the police were at his door and to tell them to stop. Deger then texted and called the victim, telling her that he would pay her $500 to drop all charges.

On Monday, August 10, 2026, at approximately 10:20 am, members of the Fresno County Adult Compliance Team (ACT), responded to a location in the City of Clovis to arrest Suspect Jacoby. Jacoby was arrested without incident and was booked into the Fresno County Jail for charges related to this investigation, including: felony vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon-not a firearm, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 8:46 pm, officers assigned to the Northwest District Safety Team received an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert within the Northwest Policing District on Suspect Deger’s vehicle. Officers located Deger’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at West Ashlan Avenue and North Marks Avenue. As officers approached the vehicle, they noted that Suspect Deger was the driver of the vehicle. Suspect Deger was arrested for charges related to this investigation including conspiracy to commit a crime and dissuading a witness. Deger was booked into the Fresno County Jail.”
