Four Motorists Arrested or Cited During Marsh Street DUI Checkpoint
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — “On Friday, August 28, 2026, a DUI checkpoint was held at the 900 block of Marsh Street from 7:30 p.m to 1:00 a.m. 418 vehicles were contacted, three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence, and one driver was cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety through education and by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration”
