“On 2-9-22, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of shots fired near a residence in the area of the 1000 block of Summer Lane in Nipomo.

Witnesses reported a truck speeding off after the shots were fired. Deputies and Detectives began an investigation into the incident and began searching for the vehicle.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that a 14-year-old female had gotten into an argument with her father. At some point, the female’s 16-year-old boyfriend and a 23-year-old male showed up at the location in a truck to pick up the female.

The female willingly got into the truck. The 16-year-old male then got into an argument with the father and fired one round from the firearm into the ground in front of the father. As the three left in the truck, the two males fired approximately 8-10 rounds into the air. No one was injured.

On 2-10-22 at approximately 2:00 AM, information was received that the truck was located in the area of Madonna Road and Spooner Drive in the city of San Luis Obispo with all three occupants inside. All three were detained without incident.

The 23-year-old was identified as Brandon Gonzalez of Guadalupe. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. The 16-year-old male was taken into custody and booked into the Juvenile Services Center for assault with a deadly weapon. The 14-year-old female was turned over to Child Protective Services. The investigation is continuing.”
