On 05-06-22, at approximately 1525 hours, Merced Police received numerous calls of several subjects fighting at the JC Penney store located at 851 W. Olive Ave.

When officers arrived, the suspect identified as Stephan Stanley (39) was being held to the ground by two good Samaritans. Through the statements of witnesses and corroborating video surveillance, Stanley broke glass in the jewelry department and began taking items from the jewelry case.
