SANTA ANA, CA — Santa Ana Police Department homicide detectives have arrested three individuals in connection with a shooting that left a 35-year-old Anaheim man dead over the weekend.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of West Myrtle Street at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located the victim, identified as Omar Flores Sanchez, lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower torso. Paramedics with the Orange County Fire Authority transported Sanchez to a local hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him deceased.

Shortly after the shooting, patrol officers searching the area located a truck matching witness descriptions near McFadden Avenue and Raitt Street. Officers detained the vehicle’s three occupants—19-year-old Hector Uriel Gonzalez, 18-year-old Israel Vladimir Cuevas, and a 16-year-old male juvenile—after discovering ammunition inside the vehicle. Authorities identified all three as Santa Ana residents and documented criminal street gang members.

Investigating detectives subsequently served a search warrant at Gonzalez’s residence, recovering three firearms—including the weapon used in the homicide—alongside additional ammunition and gang indicia.

Officers booked Cuevas, Gonzalez, and the juvenile at the Santa Ana Jail and Juvenile Hall on charges of murder, conspiracy, and gang enhancements under California Penal Code sections 187(a), 182, 186.22(a), and 186.22(b).
