Costa Mesa Police Arrest Two Garden Grove Residents in Stolen Vehicle and Retail Theft Incident
COSTA MESA, CA — Officers arrested two Garden Grove residents after locating a stolen vehicle and apprehending a retail theft suspect outside a business in the 2300 block of Harbor Boulevard last week.
Officers responded to the location after the stolen vehicle’s owner tracked its position and notified law enforcement. Upon arrival, an officer located the vehicle and questioned an adult female occupant inside.
While the officer was conducting the inquiry, an adult male suspect exited the rear of the nearby retail store carrying stolen merchandise while being pursued by store employees. Upon encountering the officer outside, the suspect was detained without further incident.
A records check revealed that the male suspect had outstanding warrants for theft offenses. Officers arrested both individuals at the scene on charges related to vehicle theft and retail larceny.
The vehicle was recovered by its owner at the location, and all stolen merchandise was secured.
