Redding Man Arrested Following Construction Equipment Theft at Evergreen School
COTTON WOOD, CA – Authorities arrested a 47-year-old Redding man following an investigation into the theft of thousands of dollars in construction equipment from a school facility late last month.
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after a male suspect entered the Evergreen School property between 1:30 a.m. and 2:11 a.m. on August 27, 2026. According to law enforcement officials, the individual stole approximately $3,800 worth of construction tools and equipment from a building under construction on the campus.
Investigators identified the suspect as Ronald Dean Graves Jr. using community tips alongside data from automated license plate reader (ALPR) systems. Following further investigative work, sheriff’s personnel obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On September 4, 2026, officers located Graves in the Redding area and took him into custody without incident. Graves was transported and booked into the Tehama County Jail on charges of burglary and grand theft. Sheriff’s office representatives expressed gratitude to local community members whose reports assisted law enforcement throughout the case.
