Suspect Arrested for Criminal Threats at Santa Cruz Cinema

SANTA CRUZ, CA — “Today, at approximately 4:11 p.m., officers responded to the Santa Cruz Cinema located in the 1400 block of Pacific Ave to a report of a subject in a theatre who was threatening patrons and proclaiming to be armed with a firearm.

Officer arrived on scene and began to investigate the circumstances, quickly learning that the suspect was the only person remaining in that theatre. Officers used this opportunity to evacuate the surrounding theatres and interviewed employees to determine what crimes had occurred.

Officers confronted the suspect and he was taken into custody. The subject was arrested and transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail for Criminal Threats and Trespassing.”
