SANTA CRUZ // Police have arrested a 25-year-old Watsonville man after a traffic stop led to the discovery of his felony arrest warrant.

On February 3rd just before 7:30 PM, an officer attempted a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry for an unsafe lane change and an absence of license plates. Rather than stop, the driver hit the gas and headed into an apartment complex on Blaine Street.

There, the driver bolted from the car.

Additional officers responded and searched the car, discovering that it was registered to 25-year-old Clintdell Taylor of Watsonville. When dispatch ran his info, police learned that he was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers then brought in Santa Cruz PD K-9 officer Luna, who helped locate Taylor hiding behind a closed business on the 1300 block of Ocean Street. Taylor was then taken into custody.
