Kings County Woman Reportedly Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit

LEMOORE, CA  —  “On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at approximately 2024 hours, a Kings County Deputy Sheriff, while on patrol near Jersey Avenue and Alkali Drive, observed a vehicle with expired registration. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop; however, the driver failed to yield, leading to a vehicle pursuit.

The suspect vehicle proceeded through the guard shack onto the Santa Rosa Rancheria, striking a stop sign in the process. The driver continued to flee within the Rancheria and surrounding areas, at speeds exceeding 60 mph in designated 15 mph zones. The vehicle was eventually immobilized in a dirt berm south of the residential area.

Upon immobilization, the male driver and a female passenger in the rear seat fled on foot into a wooded area known as the Slough. A male passenger in the front seat remained in the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

The Kings County Air Support Unit was deployed to conduct an aerial search, while deputies on the ground, with the assistance of Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Blue,” initiated a ground search. During this search, K-9 Blue located the female passenger concealed in nearby shrubbery. She was apprehended approximately fifty yards from the disabled vehicle. Despite an extensive search, the male driver was not located. However, based on investigative leads, we are confident that an arrest warrant will be issued pending the ongoing investigation.

A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle resulted in the discovery of ninety-four grams of methamphetamine in close proximity to where the female passenger had been seated. Packaging materials consistent with drug sales were also located within the vehicle. The female suspect was treated on scene by EMS personnel for injuries sustained during the K-9 apprehension and subsequently transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

A records check identified the female suspect as Alizae Alicia Fernandez. Ms. Fernandez was found to be on active Tulare County Probation for a drug sales conviction and had an active felony warrant for drug sales out of Tulare County with a bail set at $35,000. She also had a felony warrant from San Luis Obispo County for felony auto theft, with no bail authorized.

Following medical clearance, Alizae Fernandez was booked into the Kings County Jail on charges of obstructing, resisting, or delaying a Peace Officer, transportation of methamphetamine, and distribution of methamphetamine. Her total bail was set at $100,000.”
