Ione Police Department Assures Safety Following School Incident Investigation
“The Ione Police Department, Amador Unified School District, and Ione Junior HS have been working closely together on an incident reported to us over the past few days. This collaborative effort underscores our shared commitment to ensuring the safety of students, faculty, and staff. At present, there is no verifiable threat to our school community. The safety concerns circulating are the result of an incident that was promptly reported and investigated by the Ione Police Department.
The Police Department had officers present at the school today. The officers had probable cause to search several students’ bags. During these searches, nothing was found to be a threat to the students, faculty, or staff members.
Our utmost priority remains the safety of our schools and our community.
