A man has been arrested for allegedly robbing someone he initially met on social media.

34-year-old Gregory Hernandez, of Hollister, is accused of robbing the victim on the night of October 16 after the two met in person and went back to the victim’s hotel room. Hernandez allegedly robbed them at gunpoint, then handcuffed them to a fixture in the room and fled in the victim’s car, police said.

Fortunately, officers were able to quickly locate Hernandez in Salinas. At the time of his arrest, he was reportedly in possession of the victim’s stolen property as well as a suspected controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

He was taken into custody without incident and booked on suspicion of various charges including robbery, burglary, and possession of a controlled substance.
