Merced County man accused of shooting at other motorist in suspected road rage incident

A Merced County man was arrested on April 9th in connection to an alleged shooting during a suspected road rage incident, police say.

36-year-old Richard Ramos Rose was arrested shortly after a motorist reported they’d been the victim of a road rate related shooting along westbound State Route 152. The victim described the suspect vehicle as a blue Chevy El Camino. Highway patrol officers caught up with the El Camino along I-5 and detained Rose, the driver.

In a later interview with police, the victim said he and Rose had gotten into a verbal altercation as they both drove through Los Banos, and that eventually Rose had pulled a gun and opened fire.

Rose was ultimately taken into custody and booked at the Los Banos Police Department, where he remains pending $250,000 bail.
