“Merced – On May 19, 2023, at approximately 8:23 P.M., the Merced Police Department received a call regarding a man with gunshot wound at the Grove Apartments in the 300 block of S. Parsons Ave. in Merced.
Officers responded and located a 41-year-old male victim who was suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Lifesaving efforts were performed but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
Detectives and crime scene personnel responded and took over the investigation. The circumstances that led up the shooting are not clear at this time. Detectives are still canvassing the area for witnesses and video surveillance.
This case remains under investigation.
