ATWATER, CA — “Earlier this morning, Detectives and Officers attempted to serve an arrest/search warrant on a wanted person in the 1700 Block of Buhach Road. The individual did not initially surrender and a brief standoff ensued. Merced County SWAT was notified to assist in the situation. Prior to the SWAT Team arrival, the individual came out the residence and surrendered to officers. During the search warrant, stolen firearms were located at the residence. Asuncion Rodriguez of Atwater was arrested by the Street Crimes Unit on various firearms charges. The case is still under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.”
