Two arrested in connection to several recent armed robberies in Merced

Police have announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection to several armed robberies.

39-year-old Demetrius Lavelle Rodgers is suspected of robbing five convenience stores in Merced earlier this year. Two of the armed robberies occurred on January 4th, one on January 16th, and two February 1st. Rogers was located and arrested in Stockton by officers with the Stockton Police Gang Unit on April 3.

54-year-old Leonard Vernon Paige of Merced was identified early on in the investigation as Rodgers’ suspected accomplice and getaway driver, and was arrested on February 3rd of 2022.
