FRESNO, CA — “On October 27, 2026, at approximately 11:45 pm, Fresno Police Officers assigned to the Northwest Policing Districts were dispatched to a business near North Blackstone Avenue and East Holland Avenue regarding a possible stabbing victim. When officers arrived, the victim told officers that the suspect punched him, attempted to stab him, and chased him with a knife. The victim also told the officers that the suspect was last seen running northbound toward Gettysburg Avenue.
The Fresno Police Department’s Skywatch aircrew responded to help search the area for the suspect. Patrol officers directed the Aircrew to check toward the south. The aircrew located a male, who partially matched the suspect’s description and was rapidly walking away toward Ashlan Avenue. The suspect continued walking away while repeatedly looking over his shoulder.
Skywatch aircrew directed officers to the suspect’s location. When the first officer arrived, he exited his vehicle and approached the male. The male suspect ran and then began jumping fences and cutting through properties to evade officers. The aircrew directed the officers to surround the area, and they were able to track the suspect to a nearby residence and watched the suspect run inside that residence.
Officers surrounded the residence and had all the occupants exit. The suspect, who was later identified as Joseph Flores, exited the residence and was detained by officers. When officers contacted Flores, they noticed he had changed his clothes. Flores was positively identified as the suspect involved in the knife attack. Flores was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, PRCS violation, and resisting or delaying an officer.”
