Visalia Resident Arrested in Connection with Pair of Commercial Robberies

VISALIA, CA – A joint investigation between local law enforcement agencies has led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with two separate armed robberies in Tulare County.

The initial incident occurred on Sept. 26, 2026, at approximately 4:46 p.m., when Visalia Police officers responded to a reported robbery at Floreria Petalos De Oro, located at 1115 E. Houston Ave. Investigators determined that a male subject wearing a hoodie, face mask, and gloves entered the business, displayed a firearm to the clerk, and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Detectives with the Visalia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit assumed control of the investigation and subsequently identified a vehicle linked to the crime scene.

During the investigation, authorities learned of a second armed robbery under similar circumstances that took place on Sept. 28, 2026, at roughly 1:18 p.m. in the 100 block of East Front Street in Farmersville. Collaborative efforts between Visalia and Farmersville police detectives indicated that the same suspect was responsible for both incidents.

On Oct. 1, 2026, Visalia detectives, with assistance from the Special Enforcement Unit and the Tulare Regional Auto Theft Task Force, located and arrested 34-year-old Jaime Martinez of Visalia. Martinez was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant as well as charges related to the armed robberies.
