SAN DIEGO, CA — A 17-year-old female in North Carolina has been indicted by a grand jury for her alleged role in a fatal shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego that left three people dead in May of 2026.

Following a multi-agency investigation led by the San Diego Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, authorities determined the teenager aided the shooters remotely from across the country. A North Carolina grand jury charged the suspect with three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

The arrest follows months of joint investigative work between the San Diego Police Department, the FBI San Diego Field Office, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the FBI Charlotte Field Office, alongside local assistance from the Winston-Salem Police Department, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, and the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office.

Law enforcement officials stated that the case remains active and ongoing as investigators continue to evaluate evidence to hold all involved parties accountable.
