Two Convicted Felons Arrested Following Counterfeiting and Theft Investigation
MURRIETA, CA — A recent Murrieta PD vehicle stop outside a local business led to the arrest of two convicted felons on multiple fraud, theft, and weapons charges.
During the initial contact, officers discovered the driver was on active probation. A subsequent probation search of the vehicle revealed fraudulent checks, fictitious currency, hard drives, stolen property, and templates used for manufacturing counterfeit money. Officers also recovered ammunition and tear gas inside the vehicle.
Both occupants were arrested and booked into jail. They face charges including probation violation (1203.2 PC), felon in possession of ammunition (30305(a)(1) PC), prohibited person in possession of tear gas (22810(a) PC), petty theft with priors (666.1 PC), forgery (470 PC), possession or issuance of fictitious bills (476 PC), manufacturing or possessing counterfeiting apparatus (480 PC), and conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC).
