LINCOLN, CA — “On the morning of August 24, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., the Lincoln Police Department received a report that a woman had been stabbed near the intersection of Spring Valley Parkway and Stoneridge Boulevard.
Lincoln Police officers and Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area and located the victim, who had sustained a stab wound to her back. Officers rendered medical aid before the victim was transported to a local hospital. Her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators recovered a knife at the scene.
After searching the surrounding area for approximately one hour, Lincoln Police officers located and arrested James McKown, 29, a resident of Sun City Lincoln Hills, near Fallen Leaf Lane and Tahoma Lane. McKown was taken into custody without incident and will be booked at the South Placer County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, and a probation hold.
Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives do not believe McKown and the victim knew one another before the assault.
