Fresno Police Arrest Juvenile, 13, in Connection with Fatal Shooting at Reflections Apartment Complex

FRESNO, CA — “On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at approximately 8:04 pm, Northwest Policing District officers were dispatched to the Reflections Apartment Complex at West Barstow Avenue and North Brawley Avenue regarding a gunshot heard in the area. Officers checked the area but did not locate evidence of a shooting. At 08:23 pm, the Fresno Police Department received an update regarding a shooting victim inside an apartment of the complex.

Officers located a victim, 19-year-old Edgar Hernandez, inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gun-shot injury to his upper body. Hernandez was transported to CRMC, where he was treated but later died.

Homicide detectives responded and during their investigation they determined a 13-year-old juvenile was responsible for the shooting. The juvenile was arrested and booked at the Juvenile Justice Campus for Manslaughter. Although an arrest has been made, anyone with information about this case is urged to contact Fresno Police Department Homicide Detective J.
