NOVATO, CA — Police responded to a report of drug sales at Novato Fair Shopping Center,
made two arrests on May 31 and seized a “ghost gun.”
Cory Hernandez-Padilla, 18, and Lamar I. Perryman, 23, both of Santa Rosa, were booked at Marin County Jail.
Officers responded at 1:30 a.m. to the sprawling parking lot, where the suspects were
purportedly selling cocaine directly from a vehicle. The car park at the intersection of
Redwood Boulevard and Diablo Avenue has a reputation for crime, especially involving
vehicles late at night.
When officers arrived at the scene the suspects were attempting to drive away. Police blocked
the car preventing them from leaving. Next the two suspects and their vehicle were searched.
Multiple bags of cocaine packaged for sale were found on Hernandez-Padilla. So he was
booked on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale.
Perryman was found in possession of an unregistered loaded firearm without serial numbers,
an untraceable “ghost gun.” Perryman was booked for felon in possession of a firearm,
possession of firearm without a serial number, and other firearms-related offenses.
No stranger to law enforcement, Perryman was also booked for an outstanding warrant, but
no details were released.
Perryman has been arrested 10 other times since November 2020 in Marin, Sonoma, and
Alameda counties. His record includes arrests for robbery, grand theft, petty theft, and several
DUI alcohol/drug arrests.
