6 teens rob Marin City resident at bus stop

A group of six males wearing black hooded sweatshirts accosted a man at a bus stop, pointing a chrome revolver at him, threatening to shoot him if he ran. According to the Marin County Sheriff’s office, the man was also punched in the face by one of the group, who all appeared to be in their teens, and was knocked to the ground as a result. While he was on the ground, one of the group took his wallet and ball cap.

The victim, not identified by the Sheriffs, had been waiting for a bus at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when he was approached by the group and the attack occurred. Despite the assault, the victim did not require any medical attention. According to the press release, Deputies searched the area within minutes of the incident, but did not find any of the suspects. No further information or descriptions of the assailants is available.

This incident was similar to a sting of robberies that occurred in Marin last summer, in which young men wearing black hooded sweatshirts attacked and robbed people near bus stops late at night. Officials have warned people to always be aware of their surroundings and walk in well lighted areas, while avoiding strangers and trying to stay with a group whenever possible.
