Young Woman in Custody for Allegedly Assaulting her Elderly Boyfriend

SAUSALITO — A young woman who allegedly assaulted her elderly boyfriend has remained in custody since she was arrested last month. Jade H. Unger, 34, is being held at Marin County Jail in lieu of $55,000 bond.

Unger who is a resident of Sausalito is accused of spraying a 73-year-old man with pepper spray in his eyes. When he attempted to run away, she allegedly threw a metal wheel lock at him. The victim sustained severe injuries from the assault.

Officers responding to a call about a fight found the old man lying on the ground near the Sausalito Marina. His leg was bleeding profusely, and he was transported to a hospital. His injuries required surgery.

Officers wrapped up the investigation quickly. Unger was arrested about two hours later at a commercial building located on the 100 block of Ebbtide Avenue.

At the time of her arrest on September 5, Unger was on probation for a prior trespassing conviction.

Unger who works in the marine repair industry is due to appear in court on

October 16 to answer four charges –
 Assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury
 Elder abuse
 Unauthorized entry of a dwelling
 Petty theft

Incidentally, Unger has several prior arrests on her record for assault with a deadly weapon, burglaries, and drug possession.
