Vagrant Arrested 56 Times is now Accused of Committing Arson

MILL VALLEY—Ron A. Wilkins, a 62-year-old vagrant, has been arrested 56 times since 2016. Wilkins was most recently arrested by Mill Valley PD for arson. He allegedly set fire to a commercial building on Redwood Highway.

The Southern Marin Fire Department extinguished the fire at the inhabited structure. No injuries were reported and damage to the structure was minor.

Witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing, before first responders arrived on the scene. Wilkins was detained nearby and placed under arrest on September 16 at 4:14 p.m.

Wilkins is a regular jailbird in Marin, Alameda, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties. Wilkins is on hold temporarily at Marin County Jail, pending his next upcoming arrest. He has an outstanding warrant involving felony vandalism in another jurisdiction.

So far this year, Wilkins has been arrested four times for indecent exposure and other offenses. During 2022, he was arrested 9 times for assault, battery, public intoxication, among other offenses.

Wilkins was arrested four times during 2021 for burglary, throwing a substance at a vehicle, public intoxication, and outstanding warrants. In 2020, he was arrested 11 times for burglary, petty theft, indecent exposure, public intoxication, and soliciting a lewd act.

He was arrested twice in 2019 for battery, burglary, and other offenses. His four arrests in 2018 included one for burglary. He was arrested five times in 2017 for burglary, petty theft, trespassing, and other offenses.

Wilkins was placed under arrest 17 times in 2016. That year his offenses included battery, making threats of violence, trespassing, and public intoxication.
