Santa Ana Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on North Daisy Avenue

SANTA ANA, CA-The Santa Ana Police Department has initiated a homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of a 58-year-old man on Monday, April 27, 2026. Officers responded to the 300 block of North Daisy Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an individual down in the street.

Upon arrival, law enforcement located the victim, identified as John Albert Guillen, with a single gunshot wound to his upper torso. Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived at the scene and administered life-saving measures; however, Guillen was pronounced deceased at the location.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was shot while attempting to enter his vehicle. Detectives have stated they believe the incident is gang-related. Currently, the Santa Ana Police Homicide Section is working to identify and interview witnesses who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the shooting.
