Madera County Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Carjacking
MADERA, CA — “Tonight, Officer Barajas was flagged down by the victim of an attempted carjacking that had just occurred in the area of Yosemite Ave. and N. B St. Night shift officers immediately responded to the area as crucial information was broadcast describing the suspect fleeing through the alley. The rapid response, coupled with superb teamwork, resulted in officers locating 30-year-old Raul Morales hiding in the backyard of a nearby residence. Raul was ultimately arrested and booked into Madera County Jail.
Our officer not only demonstrated great teamwork during their shift but also with members of our community. Vital information was communicated by witnesses nearby, which ultimately led the officer to establish a strong perimeter and search for the suspect. Together, we will continue to hold those who commit violent crimes in our city accountable.”
