Madera County DUI Suspect Reportedly Crashed into Parked Car, Almond Tree

A Madera County woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after allegedly crashing into a parked car and, later, a tree in an almond orchard.
According to a press release by the California Highway Patrol, officers responded on the night of Wednesday, Dec. 4, after a concerned driver reported another driver’s vehicle weaving and going off the roadway in the area of westbound Avenue 12 and Road 40.
The vehicle, described as a Ford Fusion, reportedly crashed in an orchard shortly thereafter.
Police determined that the driver, a 42-year-old woman from Madera, had been driving westbound on Avenue 12 when she veered across thee eastbound lane, left the road, and crashed into an almond tree. She then reportedly briefly continued into the orchard.
Police also discovered that the driver had allegedly crashed into a parked car earlier in the night and fled prior to officers’ arrival.
The driver’s blood-alcohol percentage was found to be four times the legal limit, authorities said.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
No injuries were reported, authorities said.
