The Illicit Contacts Started Back in November
SANTA CRUZ—the Santa Cruz Police used a sting operation to make an arrest in an investigation of an adult’s six month sexual relationship of a 13-year-old minor. Police arrested 27-year-old Forrest Quinn Reyes from Madera County on several felony charges.
On Thursday, April 30, the parents of the now 14-year-old girl went to the police after their daughter came forward with the news of the relationship. Both Reyes and the female juvenile had a consensual sexual relationship that lasted for six months.
It seems that the couple met over a social media site. The girl told police the Reyes knew that she was only in middle school when the relationship began.
Detectives with the Santa Cruz Police Department set up a meeting with the suspect at a local fast food restaurant in Capitola. When Reyes arrived at the designated meeting location, he was arrested on several felony offenses.
He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail and is being held on $250,000 bail. Reyes was booked on charges of sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation with a minor, digital penetration with a minor, sodomy, lewd acts upon a child, rape by foreign object, arranging to meet a minor for lewd purposes, exhibiting harmful material to a minor, and continued sexual conduct with a minor within a one year period.
Reyes is from Oakhurst in Madera County, though he has lived in Santa Cruz periodically. Detectives are still investigating this incident and are seeking any other potential victims. Police are asking that if you feel that you have been a victim of Forrest Reyes to call them or leave information on their tip line at 831-420-5995.
