Shots fired call leads to obstruction, delaying arrests from shooter’s family

“In the early morning hours of 11/18/2021, Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the residential area of Knox Street and Olive Avenue.

During the investigation it was discovered that after an argument with family, 24-year-old Javier Macias Perez fired a gun multiple times.

When officers arrived, the family was uncooperative, and several people were taken to jail for various crimes pertaining to obstructing and delaying an investigation.

A search of the residence was conducted after officers obtained a search warrant.

An illegal, unregistered firearm believed to be used during the crime was located.

Madera Police Department would like to thank the concerned citizens who called to report this incident.

Together we can make Madera a safer place to live.”
