BERKELEY — A man and woman with prior convictions were arrested at a Lululemon store in
Berkeley.

James Talton, 25, of San Pablo, and Deja Mae Munson, 27 of Vallejo, face new
charges filed on December 2. They are presently free on bond.

An officer on duty nearby observed the suspects parking a vehicle illegally outside the store
during the afternoon of December 1. The officer watched them walk into the store carrying an
empty bag.

The officer contacted store security alert them of suspicious activity. Staff told the officer that
they were already watching the suspects stuff merchandise inside the bag. The whole
incident was being recorded. Next the suspects exited the store without paying.

When Talton and Munson were apprehended outside the store, they reportedly had in their
possession more than $900 worth of merchandise.

Talton is charged with petty theft and multiple charges related to having prior convictions and
committing another crime. He has five prior convictions on his criminal record for grand theft
and second-degree burglary. Talton has been arrested 14 times since 2019.

Munson’s charges include petty theft, and a special allegation for committing an offense while
free on bail or own recognizance. In a separate active criminal case, Munson is charged with
committing grand theft and second-degree burglary in July.

In addition, Munson has prior convictions for organized retail theft, second-degree robbery,
and identity theft. She has been arrested 11 times since 2017.
