Marina Police Arrest Suspect in Attempted Carjacking and Shots Fired Incident

MARINA, CA – “***𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐀 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 ***

INCIDENT: Attempted Carjacking
DATE OF INCIDENT: 11/10/25
TIME OF INCIDENT: 6:40PM

On 11/10/25, Marina Officers responded to reports of possible shots fired in reference to an attempted carjacking in the area of 5th Avenue and 8th Street. While responding, a vehicle was located and Officers saw a male fleeing the area. Officers quickly detained the adult male without incident, and the surrounding areas were searched for any additional subjects and/or weapons.

During this time, Officers with CSUMB PD quickly sent out alerts to nearby students and advised them to shelter-in-place for their own safety until the scene could be secured.

After an exhaustive search, no other subjects were located, and the scene was secured. The male detained was subsequently arrested and transported to the Monterey County Jail for attempted carjacking, possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting/delaying officers and violation of probation.
