Marina Post Office Employee Arrested for Shooting into Occupied Building

On Saturday, 11-08-25, at about 9:19 am, Marina Police were dispatched to the Marina Post Office to the report of shots being fired. Upon arrival officers learned no one was struck and the suspect had already fled. Officers learned Boukary Fofana, who is an employee, was the suspect.
Marina Police activated R.O.P.E. and Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies located Fofana at his residence and he was taken into custody without incident.
Marina Police Department detectives notified the US Postal Inspector’s Office and are working in conjunction with them on this investigation. The investigation is active and ongoing. Currently, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no longer any threat to the public at this time.
