On October 31, 2025, at approximately 11:18 a.m., Marina officers responded to the 100 block of Palm Avenue on the report of a suspicious person with an orange bicycle who was looking into parked vehicles. Officers contacted the male in the area and identified him as Jose Angel Benabides Corona (40) of Greenfield.
The orange bicycle was recognized from a Facebook post and the Next Door App as having been stolen the day before. Corona was wearing similar clothing, shoes and handbag as the male pictured in the online posts leaving the area with the stolen bicycle. Officers contacted the person who made the post and confirmed the orange bicycle was indeed the same one they had reported stolen the day before. It was later returned to them, and Corona was arrested for grand theft, possession of stolen property, and violation of his probation. He was booked into the Monterey County Jail.”
