Fresno Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Manchester Center Shooting

FRESNO, CA — “On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, officers from the Central Policing District responded to the Manchester Center parking lot, located in the area of Blackstone Avenue and Shields Avenue regarding a Shot Spotter event of four rounds fired. As officers were responding, the police department received additional 9-1-1 calls reporting a gunshot victim at the location. When officers arrived, they located a 25-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg. The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition and later discharged.

Detectives from the Felony Assault Unit initiated an investigation into the shooting, where they learned the victim, who was a student at UEI College, was confronted in the parking lot by another male student and an additional male, 27-year-old Miguel Pacheco-Hernandez. During this confrontation, Pacheco-Hernandez began shooting at the victim, striking him in the leg. As Pacheco-Hernandez fled the scene, he continued to fire his gun, striking an unoccupied vehicle. On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Office conducted an operation in the City of Dinuba, where Pacheco-Hernandez was located and taken into custody.

Pacheco-Hernandez was booked into the Fresno County Jail for PC 245(a)(2) – Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm), PC 247(b) – Shooting at an unoccupied vehicle, and multiple weapons charges. Although an arrest has been made, detectives are asking anyone with information to please contact the Fresno Police Department.
