CHP Uses Spike Strip to End Multi-County Pursuit, Apprehend Two Suspects
SANTA CRUZ, CA — October 23rd 2025 — “A few nights ago, Salinas Police Department Officers were in pursuit of a black Dodge Charger in Monterey County. The occupants were involved in a physical altercation in the city of Salinas.
Eventually, the vehicle entered Santa Cruz County, and CHP officers took over the pursuit. However, the driver dangerously evaded CHP into Santa Clara County and ended up in Alameda County on I-880. @chp_hayward officers responded to assist and successfully deployed a spike strip, terminating the pursuit.
CHP personnel apprehended both male occupants. The driver was charged with DUI and felony evading. Both occupants were also charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a felony. The occupants were transported by Salinas PD to Monterey County Jail where they were booked.
