“Officers responded to a stabbing outside a business on the 1000 block of Main Street Saturday night, where they found a 32-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to an out-of-county trauma center with life-threatening injuries but is now in stable condition.
The suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Francisco Nieto, left the scene before our officers arrived. Less than 24 hours later, Officers on patrol were able to locate Nieto. The Watsonville resident was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail. Our preliminary investigation indicates that Nieto and the victim had a brief altercation before the stabbing occurred.
Nieto is now facing charges of attempted murder and being held in county jail without bail due to a parole violation.

Los agentes de policía de Watsonville realizaron un arresto en una investigación de intento de asesinato.
Los oficiales respondieron a un apuñalamiento afuera de un negocio en la cuadra 1000 de Main Street el sábado por la noche, donde encontraron a un hombre de 32 años que sufría múltiples heridas de arma blanca. La víctima fue transportada a un centro de traumatología fuera del condado con lesiones potencialmente mortales, pero ahora se encuentra en condición estable.
El sospechoso, identificado como Francisco Nieto de 47 años, abandonó el lugar de los hechos antes de que llegaran nuestros agentes. Menos de 24 horas después, los oficiales que patrullaban pudieron localizar a Nieto. El residente de Watsonville fue arrestado e ingresado en la Cárcel del Condado de Santa Cruz. Nuestra investigación preliminar indica que Nieto y la víctima tuvieron un breve altercado antes de que ocurriera el apuñalamiento.
