With the help of two alert residents, officers arrested Michael Mortimer and located 9 stolen laptops, a projector, and an equipment cart.
Officers quickly responded to a burglary in-progress at Watsonville High, but when they arrived, the suspect had already managed to flee. Fortunately, the two alert residents provided officers a detailed description of the burglar.
With that information, officers were able to find the suspect with the stolen property about a block away from the high school.
Mortimer, 27, was booked into county jail for felony burglary, possession of stolen property, probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was already on probation for burglary. His bail has been set at $25,000.
