Murder suspect who fled to Mexico arrested after re-entering U.S.

“𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Murder suspect Cesar Hernandez has been taken into custody after the 47-year-old re-entered the United States from the Mexican border.

Border Patrol authorities notified us of Hernandez’s detention on Monday at about 5:00 p.m. Watsonville Police Detectives traveled to San Ysidro where they took Hernandez into custody at about 2 a.m. today.

Hernandez waived extradition and has since been returned to Santa Cruz County where he was booked into the county jail on murder charges.

Hernandez is accused of murdering his wife, 24-year-old Brenda Becerra, last week.

In order to maintain the integrity of the case, there are details that cannot be released at this time.

César Hernández, sospechoso de asesinato, ha sido detenido luego de que el hombre de 47 años reingresó a los Estados Unidos desde la frontera mexicana.

Autoridades de la Patrulla Fronteriza nos notificaron de la detención de Hernández el lunes a eso de las 5:00 p.m. Nuestros detectives viajaron a San Ysidro, donde detuvieron a Hernández alrededor de las 2 a.m. de hoy.

Hernández renunció a la extradición. El sospechoso ya se encuentra en el Condado de Santa Cruz donde fue fichado en la cárcel del condado bajo cargos de asesinato.

Hernández es acusado de asesinar a su esposa, Brenda Becerra, de 24 años, la semana pasada.
