SANTA CRUZ — The SCPD’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team (NET) served a search warrant on Thursday, March 23rd, after an investigation led them to suspected drug sales. 42-year-old Guillermo Quezada Garcia is now behind bars on drug and weapons charges.

In the early morning hours on Thursday, NET served a search warrant at a residence on the 3200 block of Portola Drive with the assistance of the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force (GTF).

In so doing, officers discovered over a pound and a half of methamphetamine and a glock handgun, along with several high-capacity magazines.

Two individuals were detained but only one arrested and charged. Garcia took responsibility for the items seized.

Garcia has been formally charged with a possession of controlled substance for sale and possession of large-capacity magazines. His bail has been set to $20,000.
